Ethiopia - Guji Danbi Udo Natural ES

Ethiopia - Guji Danbi Udo Natural ES

Roasted for espresso, but as filter, it's full-bodied with notes of berry fruit leather and rich black tea or perhaps a well-roasted oolong. Though it finishes with roast notes of toasted sugar, still present is an underlying florality that brings a darker coffee into balance. A great intro to specialty for the traditional and dark roast drinkers.

As a traditional espresso, blackberry and cherry notes are present with a rich honey sweetness and cocoa body. It's stout enough to stand up to milk, with subtle tropical notes coming through a bed of milk chocolate.

This coffee is in the line up for our Everyday Drinker Subscription.

Origin & Process

The Danbi Udo station, owned by Hailu Abebe of Demand Trading PLC, has made a name for itself processing high-quality Ethiopian coffee from the the Guji Zone. Farmers handpick ripe red cherries, and the mill meticulously processes and sorts the coffee to protect quality before forwarding it to Addis Ababa for dry milling.
